Miryo Park, one of the foremost Korean-born pianists, has been in the headlines since her emergence as a musical prodigy when at the age of fourteen, Park first appeared at a New York Philharmonic Young People’s Concert conducted by Michael Tilson-Thomas. Since that time, she has played worldwide in a vast concerto repertoire, with such eminent conductors as Sergiu Comissiona, Myung Whun Chung, Sixten Ehrling, Christian Badea, Lothar Zagrosek, and James Conlon. Daniel Barenboim calls her “a pianist of great musicality, temperament, and technique.” Zubin Mehta spoke of “her amazing command of the instrument and very definite interpretive qualities” and Mstislav Rostropovich wrote of “her beautiful and rich sound and perfect understanding of musical form.”
Miryo Park, a graduate of The Juilliard School, studied with renowned teachers Sascha Gorodnitzki, Herbert Stessin, and Felix Galimir. At Juilliard, Ms. Park won every important scholarship and competition including, the William Petschek Memorial scholarship twice and the first award of the Richard Levien Memorial scholarship, the highest honor in piano. A winner of the celebrated Naumburg Competition, she has since appeared in dozens of major global recital series in cities such as Boston, Paris, New York, Chicago, Seoul, Nice, and Aldeburgh, as well as a prestigious concert at Chateau de Versailles. Miryo Park has been featured on several television documentaries including CBS Prime Time and an article in People Magazine.
